In March of 1971, Ed Lowe built a restaurant out of stone, wood, and copper on West Lovers Lane with one beautifully simple idea: serve good food to good people. More than fifty-four years later, that idea hasn't changed.
Ed Lowe Builds Something Real
A young Ed Lowe broke ground on Lovers Lane with his own hands, raising a single-room restaurant from real stone and timber at a time when most of Dallas was eating elsewhere. On opening night, the line stretched out the door — and it stayed that way.
Farm-to-Table Before It Had a Name
Celebration was sourcing grass-fed beef from Springerhill Ranch and chalking the day's local ingredients on a lobby board long before anyone called it farm-to-table. No artificial sweeteners, no preservatives, no shortcuts — that's always been the only rule in our kitchen.
A Space That Grew With the Neighborhood
Over the decades, Celebration absorbed two neighboring homes, added a full bar, and wrapped the patio in wisteria and stone. Today it holds private rooms, a fireplace dining room, and an open patio that fills the moment the weather turns.
Partners, Not Employees
Ed Lowe has always called his staff Partners — from the chefs who've worked the line for decades to the hosts who know your name. That sense of shared ownership is what makes a meal here feel like coming home.
Fifty-Four Years and Still Cooking
The Food Network named us one of the top ten home-cooking restaurants in the country, and Texas Monthly ranked our chicken fried steak among the state's best. The promise Ed made in 1971 is the same one we keep every day.
